Help for Boji

Whitney may no longer be with us but her lyrics live on ……..

‘I believe the children are our future

Teach them well and let them lead the way’

There is no greater truth than this. Without our children there is no future generation and without an education children have no real future.

A group of diverse children reading a book.

So what do we do with all those children in the world who have been short changed? Those children who will never have a chance of an education?

This problem is so vast that we will never really solve it but what do you do when you have an opportunity to help? Just look the other way? Be thankful that your kids are alright and just move on?

This year, Link Universal has partnered with The Found Project which takes orphaned and abandoned children from the streets, institutions and orphanages of Bulgaria and gives them a free education, courtesy of the New Generation Academy in Sofia. Continue reading as we introduce you to Boji, one of our sponsored children whose story  you can find below. Can you contribute and make a difference towards his future by donating towards his education? Read on and then decide…………………..

Introducing Bojiday (Boji)

Boji 8 yrs old

Boji is like any other 8 year old boy. He likes football, cars, riding bikes and his favorite subject is art. When he grows up he wants to be a fire fighter.

But behind that cheeky smile, hides a painful past.

Boji’s mother left him and his brother when they were very young.  His father is a diagnosed schizophrenic and is unable to care for his sons.  As such, they were placed in to an institution where both were badly beaten.

In August of 2014, they were moved to a care center which is where they now live. Like the majority of children that come from institutions, Boji has a hard time dealing with basic rules and regulations.

Due to the neglect and abuse he has already experienced in his short life, he misbehaves and disobeys to get attention by slamming doors, breaking toys and other property.

Unfortunately, when Boji started the 1st grade with The New Generation Academy, he was not educated to primary school standard and had no concept of the alphabet or how to count. However, his 1st grade teacher persevered and has done an amazing job educating him.

With a lot of patience and loving discipline Boji has finally begun to trust his teachers at school and although he has a long way to go, he is becoming more affectionate and doing well in every area of his studies.

So not only is Boji receiving a Primary School education but he is also excelling in his capacity to learn. However, the center where Boji lives is not able to cover his school fees so he must rely on the kind donations of others for his schooling to continue. We are constantly looking for good Samaritans who are able and willing to help those in unfortunate situations. Could this help come from you?
