Introducing Nikolai (Niki)

Niki is 5 years old. He is full of energy and enthusiasm for life and although he loves his arts and crafts lessons at school – his real passion is football! In fact, he can’t wait for break time when he can run around and play football with his friends. As such when Nikki gets older, he wants to be a football player.

Niki comes from a very poor family who live in a house without electricity, water or a toilet. Due to sub standard living conditions, the government took custody away from his parents and placed him in a shelter.

Regardless, Niki has a great outlook on life. He speaks positively about his family, the staff at the shelter where he lives and his teachers at the New Generation Academy.

He is also very kind and attentive to the children at the shelter and his class mates. The New Generation Academy count it as a privilege to have Niki as one of their pupils.

The privilege of a continued education for Niki is of utmost importance as the majority of ‘shelter’ children do not excel without a good education.

This leads to generational cycles of uneducated, poor Bulgarian communities, the children of which are vulnerable to human trafficking.

The shelter in which Niki lives is unable to cover his school fees so he must rely on the kind donations of others for his schooling to continue. We are constantly looking for good Samaritans who are able and willing to help those in unfortunate situations. Could this help come from you?
